Lovely afternoon in Saint-Émilion

A wonderful afternoon in Saint-Émilion. Our guide made everything easy to understand, even for someone who knows very little about wine. The village was beautiful, the views were stunning, and the tasting at the château was relaxed and informative. We also got great recommendations when we mentioned we wanted to buy a few bottles as presents, which was really helpful. Really happy we booked this tour instead of trying to organise the trip ourselves.

A perfect first wine tour experience

We were on holiday in France and decided to try our first-ever wine tour, and it turned out to be one of the best days of the trip. The small group made it feel personal, and our guide kept things fun without ever rushing us. My fiancée and I love wine, so we really enjoyed the tasting, and it was a nice bonus to have a French apéritif included. The medieval village was stunning and made the whole experience even more special. We learned a lot, met lovely people, and truly enjoyed Saint-Émilion. Highly recommend.

DESCRIPTION

Saint-Émilion Wine Tour from Bordeaux

DISCOVER THE WINES AND LANDSCAPES OF SAINT-ÉMILION

Explore the beautiful village of Saint-Émilion, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This part of the Bordeaux region is known for its rolling vineyards and centuries of winemaking tradition. Saint-Émilion wines differ from those of the Médoc or Margaux. They are mainly made with Merlot and Cabernet Franc, which give them a softer, rounder, and more approachable taste. They are known for smooth tannins, ripe fruit aromas, and a style that feels warm and elegant. As you drive through the Right Bank, your guide will explain how the limestone soil helps create these unique flavors.

A GRAND CRU CLASSÉ EXPERIENCE WITH LOCAL WINES

Visit a prestigious Grand Cru Classé estate to see how Saint-Émilion wines are made from vineyard to cellar. You’ll learn why Merlot thrives here, how blending works, and what makes Grand Cru Classé estates stand out from others. Enjoy a tasting of 3 to 4 wines and learn how to identify aromas, textures, and ageing characteristics. A French apéritif with fresh bread and cheese is also included, giving you a real taste of life in the region.

EXPLORE THE MEDIEVAL VILLAGE OF SAINT-ÉMILION

Your tour continues in the village of Saint-Émilion, one of the most charming medieval towns in France. Known for its steep cobbled streets, stone houses, and historic squares, the village feels like stepping back in time. Your guide will take you to the famous Monolithic Church and to viewpoints overlooking the vineyards. You will also have time to visit small artisan shops tucked into narrow lanes. Saint-Émilion’s history goes back to the 8th century, and the village has been shaped by monks, winemakers, and merchants for over 1,200 years. It’s the perfect place to end your wine adventure before returning to Bordeaux.
